STEVEN KORDISH ARRESTED FOR USING DECEASED'S IDENTITY
The Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division has concluded an investigation into a fraudulent credit card account opened using the identity of a deceased Pine Prairie resident.
During the investigation, detectives learned that the credit card account was opened in September 2018 and incurred unauthorized charges totaling $6,292.19 between September 28, 2023, and August 28, 2024.
Through evidence obtained during the investigation, detectives determined that Steven Ryan Kordish, 36, of Pine Prairie, was responsible for opening and using the account without authorization. Records showed the account had been used at several businesses and was associated with contact information linked to Kordish.
As a result of the investigation, an arrest warrant was obtained for Steven Ryan Kordish, who was booked into the Evangeline Parish Jail on March 11, 2026
Charges: One (1) count Theft- (Felony) - Louisiana Revised Statute 14:67
Bond: $37,500.00
