The mission of the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office Investigation Division is to effectively serve and protect the communities with, professional and impartial investigation of crimes, violent activity, and criminal complaints. We focus on excellence in the preparation of those cases referred to the District Attorney for prosecution.

The Investigations Division has numerous duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to property crimes such as fraud or burglary, as well as personal crimes, such as homicides, assaults, and domestic violence. Investigators follow up on investigations of reports taken by Patrol Deputies. Cases are generated through police reports from the public, pro-active investigations, and crime tips received from the public. For the most part, these investigations are mainly for felony crimes. This includes everything such as theft, homicide, narcotics, and the execution of various search warrants.
