Mitchell is a resident of Evangeline Parish and has served the Parish for 12 years. He has worked as a Patrol Deputy, then became a Sergeant as shift supervisor of his shift on patrol and was promoted as Lieutenant on the patrol division. Mitchell was then promoted to Captain of Chief of Patrol before becoming Chief Criminal Deputy of the department.
Along with being POST certified, Major Mitchell has attended and completed numerous trainings such as training through Homeland Security, training through the state, along with Federal training on Law Enforcement. As a part of his duties, he also conducts internal investigations and public affairs. Mitchell looks forward to being committed and continuing to putting his experience to work for all the people of Evangeline Parish, along with working with all agencies throughout the state.
The Criminal Division, Mitchell oversees all the activity of all law enforcement officers at the Sheriff’s Office.
