Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office Makes Arrests in Vehicle Theft Investigation
Beginning in June 2026, the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office began receiving reports of vehicle and ATV thefts throughout the parish. Detectives immediately launched investigations into each incident and determined that many of the thefts appeared to be connected.
Several of the stolen vehicles belonged to local farmers who were actively harvesting crops at the time of the thefts. In many cases, the vehicles had been left parked along roadways while the farmers worked in nearby fields.
Through the course of the investigation, detectives identified multiple suspects believed to be involved in the thefts. As of July 17, 2026, detectives have arrested Donnavon Gallow and Jaquan Lavergne on multiple counts of motor vehicle theft and firearm theft.
The investigation remains active and ongoing, and additional arrests will happen. Detectives have dedicated hundreds of man-hours to these cases and continue to work tirelessly to identify and apprehend all individuals involved.
