Date Posted: 06/17/2026

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

LILA'S PATROL PALS IS A CHILD-LED NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION FOUNDED BY 9-YEAR-OLD LILA NEAL FROM DEQUINCY, LOUISIANA. THE ORGANIZATION COLLECTS, CLEANS, AND DISTRIBUTES DONATED STUFFED ANIMALS TO LAW ENFORCEMENT AND FIRE DEPARTMENTS. FIRST RESPONDERS, THEN KEEP THESE "PALS" IN THEIR PATROL VEHICLES  TO GIVE TO CHILDREN IN CRISIS, OFFERING COMFORT DURING STRESSFUL OR TRAUMATIC EMERGENCIES.

THE INSPIRATION: Lila started the project after being inspired by her father, a deputy with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office, who kept a bag of stuffed animals in his unit.

*        RAPID IMPACT: Since launching, the initiative has grown rapidly, distributing approximately 3,000 stuffed animals across dozens of first responder agencies.

*        COMMUNITY PARTNERS: Multiple Louisiana agencies partner with the nonprofit, including the Crowley Police Department, Rosepine Police Department, Beauregard Parish Sheriff's Office, and Concordia Parish Sheriff's Office.

*        FUTURE GOALS:  Lila aims to expand her mission nationwide, with plans to start drop-offs in neighboring states like Texas.

THE EVANGELINE PARISH SHERIFF'S OFFICE WOULD LIKE TO THANK LILA'S PATROL PALS FOR THE DONATION TO OUR DEPARTMENT. WE REALLY APPRECIATE YOU.
