PATROL DIVISION LOCATES NARCOTICS DURING TRAFFIC STOP!

On Tuesday, September 23, 2025, deputies with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office Uniformed Patrol Division conducted a traffic stop on U.S. Highway 190 after observing a white Chevrolet pickup truck commit multiple traffic violations. Contact was made with the driver, and a roadside interview was conducted. Following the interview, deputies conducted a search of the vehicle.

During the search, deputies located suspected marijuana inside the vehicle, with a total weight of 29.60 grams. As a result, Mr. Michael Jenkins was arrested, transported to the Evangeline Parish Jail, and booked for violation of L.A. R.S. 40:966 - Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I narcotic.
