NARCOTIC PRESS RELEASE: WALTON PIERRE FONTENOT JR.
On June 21, 2025, Narcotic Agents with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff Office assigned to Criminal Patrol / Narcotics division, observed a vehicle bearing the Louisiana license plate MH08785 swerving within its lane. Dispatch was advised of the Louisiana license plate and it was advised the status of the license plate was canceled by voluntary surrender. Agents activated the emergency lights and sirens to conduct a traffic stop, in which the vehicle stopped along the roadway on Oberlin Road and Buckshot Road. As the vehicle came to a stop, the passenger door opened and the subject positively identified as Ronald Mcgee exited the vehicle and begin to flee on foot toward an adjacent Woodline as he was told to stop. Ronald Mcgee is an Active Fugitive within the state of Louisiana and is wanted for Possession with intent to distribute Methamphetamine, and Transactions involving proceeds from drug offenses. Ronald Mcgee is also wanted by Probation and Parole.
Contact was made with driver, 40-year-old white male identified as Walton Pierre Fontenot Jr. (DOB 10/03/1977). Upon making contact with Walton Fontenot, he was physically detained in handcuffs and advised of his Mirranda Rights. Agents placed Fontenot in the rear of the police unit, and Fontenot stated that he been allowing Ronald Mcgee to stay with him at his residence 1201 Railroad Ave Mamou Louisiana 70554 the night prior, been assisting him in trips to numerous locations and stores, and that he was currently bringing him to a camp in Allen Parish prior to being stopped. Fontenot Jr made several calls to several law enforcement agencies (Mamou Police Department and Evangeline Parish Sheriff Office) concerning Ronald Mcgee's warrants and that he knew that Ronald Mcgee was currently wanted by probation and parole. Fontenot's direct influence in hindrance, and execution of the warrants placed on Ronald Mcgee.
Walton Pierre Fontenot Jr arrested and charged with (1) Count 14:130.1.2E Obstruction of Justice, 14:25 Accessory after the fact. Walton Pierre Fontenot was also issued citations for his traffic related offenses, and the vehicle was towed by Bubba's Towing Service
