NARCOTIC PRESS RELEASE: SANDRESS CALVIN

On June 20, 2025, Narcotic Agents with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office, while conducting Criminal Patrol / Narcotics division, observed a vehicle bearing a Texas license plate, VFN9950, driving in reverse on Edward Knotoe Thomas Jr Street onto Ardoin Street.  Agents activated the emergency lights to effect a traffic stop.   Upon making contact with the driver, who was identified as Keyondrick Boykins, and the passenger, who was a 40-year-old black male identified as Sandress Calvin.  Upon making contact with Sandress Calvin, an open container was in plain view in the center console. K. Boykins was advised of the reason for the traffic stop and instructed to provide his license, vehicle registration, and proof of insurance. While stepping out of the vehicle, Sandress Calvin was observed by agents concealing a white pill within the rear seam of the passenger seat.  Narcotic agents asked Sandress Calvin what he placed within the seat, and he stated it was his medication that he had some hydrocodone "nacro's" for his leg.  Sandress Calvin surrendered six in total, white in color, capsule/oblong imprint M367 identified as Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone Bitartrate 10mg. Sandress Calvin stated that his medication bottle was located at home.   Upon agents locating the narcotics on Sandress Calvin without a prescription, he was physically detained in handcuffs and secured in the rear of a unit.  

A search of the vehicle was conducted in which another white in color, capsule / oblong imprint M367, identified as Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone Bitartrate 10mg was located in the seam of the passenger seat.  Also located within the driver's door was an open container. 

Keyondrick Boykins was issued a traffic citation for his traffic-related offenses and released. 

Sandress Calivin was issued a citation for open container and arrested and charged with (1) Count of 40:967 Possession of Schedule II Narcotics and  (1) Count of 14:130.1 Obstruction of Justice.
