~NARCOTIC PRESS RELEASE~ LIONELL ARDOIN AND YVONNE SAVOY
On April 17, 2025, Narcotic Agents with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office, while conducting criminal patrol within the city limits of Ville Platte, observed a vehicle parked on Soileau Street in the middle of the roadway on the opposite lane of travel, obstructing the roadway. Upon conducting a license plate check, agents made contact with a 38-year-old black male identified as Lionel "lil daddy" Ardoin, who is a known narcotic distributor within the community of Ville Platte in Evangeline Parish. Ardoin was advised of the reasoning for the stop. Ardoin nervously attempted to get in the vehicle to move the car from the roadway when the agent instructed Ardoin not to get in the truck and move to the front of the vehicle.
Narcotic Agents asked Ardoin if he possessed any weapons on him, to which he stated no. Agents advised Ardoin to place his hands on the truck to conduct a weapon pat-down. Ardoin was observed taking belongings out of his pocket and placing them on the hood of his vehicle. The items located in his possession that he removed were a digital scale, wallet, cell phone, and United States currency. Ardoin was advised to stop messing with his pocket and place his hands on the hood of the vehicle. Ardion stated in a low tone that he had Cocaine in his possession while simultaneously pushing himself physically off the vehicle in an attempt to flee from agents. Agents immediately grabbed Ardoin to gain control of him when Ardoin attempted to discard narcotics by throwing them away from his person. Once Ardion was placed on the hood of the vehicle, he was physically restrained in handcuffs. Located approximately 5 feet from the altercation and next to the rear tire of the police vehicle was a tied plastic bag containing 29.50 grams of Cocaine. At the time, Ardoin's significant other, who was identified as a 37-year-old black female, identified as Yvonne Savoy, exited the residence of 620 Edward Knotoe Thomas Jr. Street, screaming and running towards Narcotic Agents as Savoy moved closer to agents, yelling and insinuating that the agents were harassing Ardoin. Savoy was informed not to interfere with agents and instructed to step back from agents numerous times, but did not comply. Agents secured a warrant for Savoy for Obstruction of Justice and Interfering with a Law Enforcement Investigation.
