~NARCOTIC PRESS RELEASE~ JULIE MOUILLER BANKS AND ANTHONY FONTENOT
On April 9, 2025, I, Narcotic Agents with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office, while working criminal patrol in the South/Central area of Evangeline Parish, observed a vehicle bearing the Louisiana License Plate 607BEH conduct a left turn from La-95 onto St. Peters without using a signal prior to turning. Agents conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, who was a 58-year-old white female identified as Julie Mouiller Banks, and the passenger, a 60-year-old white male identified as Anthony Fontenot. The passenger, Fontenot, was known to agents to have maintained several active warrants. Fontenot was ordered to exit the vehicle and was placed in restraints due to the active warrants. During a pat search prior to placing Fontenot in a marked unit for transport, agents located a piece pf plastic containing approximately 4.0 grams of Marijuana and a broken smoking pipe which contained Methamphetamine residue. A search of the vehicle by agents yielded in the passenger seat a pill bottle containing 3 oval shaped pills with imprint Y19 identified as Alprazolam 0.5 mg, Schedule IV Narcotic, (1) rectangular pill with imprint G3722 identified as Alprazolam 2mg Schedule IV, located in a box of latex gloves was a pill bottle prescribed to Ronald Martel which contained approximately 1.12 grams of Marijuana and approximately .78 grams of Methamphetamines.
Due to narcotics being located on the passenger who exited the vehicle, a search of the vehicle was conducted. It was also advised to the driver prior to searching, with the reasoning. Located on the passenger seat in a pill bottle was a piece of plastic containing three oval-shaped pills with imprint Y19 identified as Alprazolam 0.5 mg (Schedule 4), and one white rectangular pill with imprint G3722 identified as Alprazolam 2mg (Schedule 4). Located in a box of latex gloves was a pill bottle prescribed to Ronald Martel in which contained approximately 1.12 grams of Marijuana and approximately .78 grams of Methamphetamine.
Julie Mouiller Banks was arrested and charged with (1) Count of 40:967C Possession of Schedule II CDS (Methamphetamines) (1) Count of 40:969C Possession of Schedule IV CDS (Alprazolam).
Anthony Fontenot was arrested and charged with (1) Count of 40:967C Possession of Schedule II CDS (Methamphetamines) (1) Count of 40:969C Possession of Schedule IV CDS (Alprazolam).
Julie Mouiller was also issued citations for traffic infractions.
Anthony Fontenot was also issued a criminal summons for Possession of Marijuana (less than 14 grams).
