NARCOTIC PRESS RELEASE: BRENNIN HEATH BERGERON

On December 5, 2025, Narcotic Agents with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office, while conducting a criminal patrol, observed a vehicle swerve within its lane, crossing then in the median, and also having an improperly displayed Louisiana license plate by having a plate cover obstructing it.   Agents activated the emergency lights to conduct a traffic stop.  The vehicle came to a stop at the intersection of Pine Point Road and La Hwy 104.  
Upon making contact with the driver, a 22-year-old white male identified as Brennin Heath Bergeron.  During the field interview, the agent observed inconsistencies with Bergeron.  Agents notified the K-9 Officer, who shortly after arrived and conducted a "free air sniff" around the exterior of the vehicle, which resulted in a positive alert on the driver and passenger compartments of the vehicle.
A search of the vehicle was conducted, in which the following was located:
·     Located in a green metal container under the driver's dashboard was Methamphetamine weighing .54 grams in total.
·     Located on a piece of glass on the floorboard in plain view was a line of Methamphetamine weighing .18 grams in total weight.
·     Located within his bag was a Meth-pipe with several burn marks consistent with Methamphetamine use. Methamphetamine was observed throughout the pipe. Due to methamphetamine being located within the pipe, it was retrieved. The Methamphetamine weighed .60 grams in total.
·     Located on the driver's floorboard area was a Sig Sauer 9mm P365 Serial Number: 66A177
 
Brennin Heath Bergeron was arrested and charged with the following:
1 Count of La RS 40:967 Possession of Schedule II CDS Methamphetamine
1 Count of La RS 14:95 E Possession of a Firearm In the presence of CDS
