NARCOTIC PRESS RELEASE: BEN AND PATTERSON
On July 17, 2025, Narcotic Agents with Evangeline Parish Sheriff Office received information from the Allen Parish Correctional Facility in reference to a current staff member who is a 35-year-old black male identified as Rodrick Ben, who was conspiring to introduce an unknown number of illegal narcotics in the Allen Correctional Facility and in return Rodrick Ben would receive a payment of $5000.00 in US Currency. Through a Narcotic Investigation, agents learned Rodrick Ben was interviewed by investigative staff at the Allen Parish Correctional Center where he confessed to introduce and sell the illegal narcotics and wrote a confession to possessing the illegal narcotics at his home and distribute the illegal narcotics at the Correctional facility. Upon completion of the investigation, Narcotic Agents secured a Narcotic Search Warrant for the residence of Rodrick Ben located at 543 Prosper Street Apt. #10, Ville Platte Louisiana. Agents executed to the Narcotic Search Warrant, clearing the residence with no one inside. While agents were searching the residence, Rodrick Ben and a female exited the vehicle who was a 36-year-old black female who was identified as Paula Patterson who was currently employed with GEO Prisons in Pine Prairie Louisiana and also a member of the residence. Both Ben and Patterson were detained and Miranda Rights read and under stood. Upon completion of the search, the following was located.
· Located within the bedroom to the right under a deflated air mattress was two vacuum seal bags containing the following in the first bag: a total of 30 sheets of suspected Synthetic Marijuana paper: 3 sheets, 5 sheets, 3 sheets,3 sheets, 1 sheets, 3 sheets, 5 sheets, 3 sheets, 4 sheets, a clear plastic bag containing 140 Suboxone Buprenorphine and Naloxone Sublingual Film 8mg/2mg, a small black Ziploc was 82 packages of Suboxone Buprenorphine and Naloxone Sublingual Film 8mg/2mg.
· Located within a second bag under the deflated air mattress was 118 grams of Marijuana located in a gray grocery bag, 147 grams of Marijuana in a vacuum seal bag, in a RX bottle with no prescription label was 40 packages Suboxone Buprenorphine and Naloxone Sublingual Film 8mg/2mg.
· Located within the middle cabinet of the TV Stand was a small package heavily wrapped in black electrical tape containing 397 grams of loose Tabacco. Also located was another package also heavily wrapped in black electrical tape containing several separated packages containing the following 33.39 grams of Marijuana, 33.2 grams of Marijuana, 34.3 grams of Marijuana, 32.9 grams of Marijuana, 92 grams of Synthetic Marijuana, 64.7 grams of Synthetic Marijuana, 91.8 grams of Synthetic Marijuana. Also located was a vacuum sealed bag containing 237 grams of Marijuana, a Ziploc bag containing 20 packages of Suboxone Buprenorphine and Naloxone Sublingual Film 8mg/2mg, as well as 2 separate packages containing a total of 4 packs wrapped in saranwrap of Suboxone Buprenorphine and Naloxone Sublingual Film 8mg/2mg, it should be advised due to the way it was packaged, an official count could not be completed without damaging evidence. A United States Postal Envelope containing 50 packages of Suboxone Buprenorphine and Naloxone Sublingual Film 8mg/2mg., 1 package of plastic containing 8 sheets of Synthetic Marijuana, 1 package of plastic containing 2 sheets of Synthetic Marijuana paper, 1 package of plastic containing 29 sheets of Synthetic Marijuana paper.
Rodrick Ben was arrested and charged with: (1) Count of 40:966A (Marijuana) Distribution/Possession with Intent to Distribution Marijuana or Synthetic Marijuana (Felony), (1) Count of 40:966A (Synthetic Marijuana) Distribution/Possession with the Intent of Distribute Schedule I CDS (Felony), (1) Count of 40:968A (Suboxone) Distribution/Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule III CDS (Suboxone)
Paula Patterson was arrested and charged with: (1) Count of 40:966A (Marijuana) Distribution/Possession with Intent to Distribution Marijuana or Synthetic Marijuana (Felony), (1) Count of 40:966A (Synthetic Marijuana) Distribution/Possession with the Intent of Distribute Schedule I CDS (Felony), (1) Count of 40:968A (Suboxone) Distribution/Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule III CDS (Suboxone)
