Date Posted: 06/12/2026

On April 1, 2026, I, Narcotic Agents with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office assigned to Criminal Patrol / Narcotics Division, observed a vehicle conduct a left turn without using its signal 100 ft before turning left from Main Street onto Soileau Street.  Agents activated the emergency lights to initiate a traffic stop, and the vehicle came to a stop on Soileau Street.   Upon approaching the vehicle, contact was made with the driver, identified as Kyla Guillot, and the passenger, a 56-year-old white female identified as Stephanie Johnson.  Agents advised the driver, Guillot, of the reasoning for the stop.  Guillot was advised to provide her license, vehicle registration, and proof of insurance.  Guillot stated she did not have a license in her possession, nor had she ever had a license within the state of Louisiana.  Both driver and passenger were asked if anything illegal was within the vehicle, and both Guillot and Johnson stated no and gave agents verbal consent to search the vehicle.  At this time, through dispatch agents became aware that Johnson was maintaining a warrant for Failure to Appear in Court.    Guillot and Johnson exited the vehicle along with a male juvenile belonging to Guillot.

A search of the vehicle was conducted:

Located in an aluminum can labeled "Altoids" were three baggies, one containing approximately 0.57 grams of Methamphetamine.
Located in a black plastic bag on the passenger floorboard was an open bottle of Taka Vodka.
Both Subjects were advised of their Miranda Rights in which they stated they understood. Stephanie stated that the aluminum can and purple purse was her, but not the narcotics located inside.

Kyla Guillot was issued a citation for her traffic-related offenses and released.

Stephanie Johnson was arrested and charged with the following:

40:967C Possession of Schedule II CDS - Methamphetamine
14:91.13 Illegal use of controlled dangerous substances in the presence of persons under seventeen years of age
