NARCOTIC ARREST: PAUL P VIDRINE FOR POSSESSION OF METH

On February 8, 2026, Narcotic Agents with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office assigned to the Criminal Patrol Narcotics Division, while patrolling in the Grand Prairie area, observed a vehicle bearing the Louisiana C640070 swerve outside of its designated lane of travel on PZ Road as it reached the intersection of Grand Prairie Road.  Agents activated the emergency lights and sirens to conduct a traffic stop.   Agents made contact with the driver, a 67-year-old white male identified as Paul Vidrine.   Vidrine was advised of the reason for the traffic stop. He stated he was swerving and driving left of center due to using his cell phone while driving.  A pat search was conducted for officer safety in which Vidrine consented to agents searching his pant pockets.  Located in his right front pocket was a large sum of United States currency in various denominations folded in half and contained with a rubber band. Located in the subject's left pants pocket were two containers, one silver and one white, which, according to Paul Vidrine's admission his "Medication" Xanax and another undisclosed medication. Due to the medication not being in a prescription container, it was opened, and the following was located:

• Located within a white tube-like container with a twist top was a piece of cellophane containing tied with a twist tie, red in color, was Methamphetamine weighing 1.62 grams

• Located within a silver tube like container with a twist top was two blue in color oval pills imprint Y20 identified Alprazolam 1mg (Schedule IV), one white round pill imprint RP 10 325 identified as Acetaminophen and Oxycodone Hydrochloride 325 mg/ 10mg (Schedule II CDS), and two white round pills imprint 54 24 identified as Methadone Hydrochloride (Schedule II CDS).

• The United States currency, which was located, totaled $2,363 in various denominations consistent with Narcotic transactions.

• It should also be advised that an open alcoholic beverage was located in the center console of the vehicle in plain view.

As a result of the traffic stop, Vidrine was arrested and charged with: 
La RS 40:967C Possession of Schedule II CDS (Methamphetamine) 
La RS 40:967C Possession of Schedule II CDS (Oxycodone) 
La RS 40:967C Possession of Schedule II CDS (Methadone) 
La RS 40:969C Possession of Schedule IV CDS (Alprazolam) 
La RS 40:1041 Transactions involving proceeds from drug offenses

Paul Vidrine was issued a citation for his traffic-related offenses (Citation Number 89076095) for the traffic offenses of La RS 32:79 Improper Lane Usage, La RS 32:300 Opened Container, and La RS 32:59 Use of electronic device prohibited. The vehicle was towed due to his arrest. The vehicle was towed by R&T Towing Service.
