NARCOTIC ARREST: FONTENOT AND LOWERY
On October 20, 2025, Narcotic Agents with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office, while conducting a Criminal Patrol, observed a vehicle conduct a right turn from 6th Street onto Hickory Street without maintaining its lane. Agents activated the emergency lights and sirens to conduct a traffic stop, in which the vehicle stopped on 5th Street and Hickory Street. Upon the vehicle coming to a stop, contact was made with the driver, a 30-year-old white male who was identified as Jeremie Lee Fontenot, and the 27-year-old white female, identified as Alexis Lynn Lowery. During the initial contact, agents observed an overwhelming odor of Marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Jeremie Fontenot was asked if narcotics were present within the vehicle, to which he stated yes, within his pocket. Jeremie Fontenot was instructed to step out of the vehicle and make his way to the rear of the vehicle. Once at the rear, a search of his person was conducted in which a jar of Marijuana was located, weighing approximately 4.30 grams outside of its container and approximately 86.48 grams within the container. The passenger, Alexis Lowery, was then instructed to step out of the vehicle and make her way to the rear of the car. Agents observed a tender-aged male child of approximately 2 years old in the back seat of the vehicle in a designated car seat. During the search of the vehicle, another .032 grams of Marijuana was located in the passenger door.
Jeremie Lee Fontenot was issued a traffic citation for his traffic-related offenses, a criminal summons for 40:966 C, Possession of Marijuana under 14 grams.
Alexis Lowery was issued a criminal citation for 40:966 C, Possession of Marijuana under 14 grams.
A Warrant was issued for both Jeremie Lee Fontenot and Alexis Lynn Lowery for La. RS. Code 14:91.13 Illegal Use of a Controlled Dangerous Substance in the presence of a person under seventeen years of age. Since this new release, both Fontenot and Lowery have been arrested.
