NARCOTIC ARREST: DUKE MCELWEE

On December 9, 2025, Narcotic Agents observed a vehicle leaving a house that was under surveillance by narcotic agents. The vehicle traveled north on Veteran Memorial Highway until it reached the intersection to Hogan Lane, once at the intersection the subject conducted a wide right turn onto Hogan and conducted a wide right turn not properly using his lane.   Upon the agents observing the traffic violation, they activated the emergency lights to conduct a traffic stop. The vehicle failed to stop, and the agents observed the driver's hand go down as the driver leaned towards the dashboard as if attempting to hide some form of contraband. The vehicle came to rest at the residence of 1017 Hogan Road, Ville Platte, Louisiana 70586.   Once contact was made with the driver, a 46-year-old white male identified as Duke Mcelwee.  Agents ordered McElwee out of the vehicle, and through field interviews, consent to search the vehicle was given by McElwee.   Agents also became aware that McElwee was maintaining a suspended license.   A search of the vehicle was conducted by agents, and under the dashboard, approximately 30.05 grams of methamphetamines were located.  

 

Mcelwee was arrested and charged with:


1 Count of La Rs 40:967A Possession with intent to distribute Schedule II Narcotics (Methamphetamine)


Issued a traffic summons for the traffic violations.
