NARCOTIC ARREST: CHARLES HANK FONTENOT

On April 15, 2026, Narcotic Agents with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office assigned to the Narcotics Division observed a white male subject walking in the roadway without reflective gear in accordance with the Ville Platte City ordinance.  Agents activated the emergency lights to conduct a traffic stop at the intersection of E Cotton Street and Chataignier Street.  The subject was a 47-year-old white male, identified as Charles Hank Fontenot.  Agents learned during the field interview that Fontenot maintained an active Felony Warrant for the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office for Possession of Schedule I (Synthetic Marijuana), and Possession of a Schedule II CDS Methamphetamines.  Upon learning this information, a pat search for weapons was conducted for officer safety, and agents felt numerous bulges within the pant pocket of Fontenot.  Fontenot was placed in restraints due to the active warrants, and a search of his person was conducted with the following results: 

* Located in a black zipper pouch in Charles Hank Fontenot's back left pocket was a black piece of plastic containing 11.13 grams of suspected Methamphetamine 
* Located in a black zipper pouch in Charles Hank Fontenot's back left pocket, loose was 0.31 grams of suspected Methamphetamine 
* Located within a glass pipe with several burn marks, as well as Methamphetamine throughout the shaft, located in the subjects, which contained approximately 0.52 Grams
* Several empty pieces of plastic within the black zipper pouch are consistent with packaging for distribution


Charles Hank Fontenot was advised of his Miranda Rights and charged with (1) Count La. RS 40:967A Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule II CDS Methamphetamine.
