NARCOTIC AND PARCEL SEARCH WARRANT: EDWARD GRANGER AND JODY FONTENOT

Recently, the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office, in conjunction with the Postal Inspectors Office and the Allen Parish SWAT Team, completed a narcotics investigation which led to Narcotic Agents securing a Narcotic and Parcel Search Warrant for the address of 213 Maple Street, Mamou, Louisiana. 

On July 21, 2025, Narcotic Agents with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office and Allen Parish SWAT executed a Narcotic Search Warrant at the residence of 213 Maple Street, Mamou, Louisiana, in reference to a parcel search warrant.  Agents made contact with a white 45-year-old male identified as Edward Granger and a white male 56 years old identified as Jody Fontenot.   Upon securing Granger and Fontenot, agents conducted a search of the residence and located a parcel package.   Within the package, agents located 2 vacuum seal bags, both containing Marijuana, one weighing 643 grams and the other weighing 501 grams, totaling at a weight of 1,144 grams (2.52 lbs.) of Marijuana.  Edward Granger was advised of his rights and stated he understood his rights.  During questioning, Granger stated the package was his and his alone.  Agents were also aware that Granger and Fontenot were both maintaining outstanding warrants through the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office.  

Edward Granger was arrested and charged with (1) Count 40:966 Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule I Narcotics Marijuana.

Jody Fontenot was arrested for outstanding warrants.
