NARCOTIC AGENTS ARREST YOUNG FOR POSSESSION OF SCHEDULE II
On January 8, 2026, I, Narcotic Agents, observed a vehicle, a 2007 Buick silver in color, traveling East on Opelousas Road cross the median several times, not maintaining its proper lane. Agents activated the emergency lights and sirens to conduct a traffic stop in which the vehicle stopped on Opelousas Road near Alamo Road.
Upon agents making contact with the driver, a 39-year-old black male who was identified as Troy Young. Young was advised of the stop and advised to provide his Driver's License, Vehicle Registration, and Vehicle Insurance, which he provided his Driver's License via La-Wallet as well as his Vehicle insurance. Troy Young was instructed to step out of the vehicle. Once out of the vehicle, a weapons pat-down was conducted with no findings. Through a field interview, consent was given to agents to search the vehicle. During this time, agents became aware that Young maintained an active warrant for the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office. At this time, Young was advised of his Miranda Rights and placed under arrest.
A search of the vehicle was conducted, and the following was located:
· One pill bottle with faded un-legible label containing 8 pink round pills with imprint E 344 identified as Amphetamine and Dextroamphetamine 20 mg (Schedule II)
· One pill bottle with a label for a Brianna George containing 2 blue round pills with imprint E 111 identified as Amphetamine and Dextroamphetamine 10 mg (Schedule II) as well as 8 peach-colored pills with imprint E506 3 0 identified as Amphetamine and Dextroamphetamine 30 mg (Schedule II)
Troy Young was arrested and charged with the following:
(1) Count La RS 40:967C Possession of Schedule II Narcotics (CDS)
