MEDIA RELEASE: JEFFERY THIBODEAUX

On July 18, 2025 Deputies with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a residence off Lanse Bleu Rd. for a theft of an outboard boat motor. Deputies contacted the victim who stated that someone took his gray 20 HP Honda outboard motor off his boat and replaced it with a Honda Gray 8 HP outboard Honda motor which was not in working condition. The 8 HP stored seized in evidence at this time.

During the investigation, Detectives located the Honda 20 HP motor with the help of the public. The motor was in the possession of a male subject identified as Jeffrey Thibodeaux of 4443 Lanse' Bleu Rd. in Ville Platte, La. Mr. Thibodeaux was arrested on August 14, 2025 and charged with one felony count of Illegal possession of stolen things and has recently been released on a $25,000.00 bond. This investigation is ongoing and if anyone has any further information is urged to contacted the Criminal Investigation Division.
