MEDIA RELEASE: REMINGTON GAGE MCGEE
On May 7, 2025, Deputies responded to Alec Street in the unincorporated area of Mamou La. in reference to a stolen ATV (2022 Honda Forman 420 Red in Color). Deputies met with the complainant, who stated that someone stole his stepson's four-wheeler during the night. During the investigation, Detectives learned that a witness had information in reference to the investigation.
On July 25, 2025, Detectives spoke to the witness. He advised that he knew who stole the four-wheeler and its location. Remington Mcgee, AKA ''Remi", and his friends went to the victim's residence, took the four-wheeler out from the shed located at the victim's residence, pushed it away from the house, and drove the bike through other yards and loaded it onto a trailer.
At that point, they hid the four-wheeler in a field behind the Popeye's subdivision in the Mamou area with tall grass where it could not be seen. The witness indicated that when he was with a friend in the L'anse Meg area in Mamou, Remi went and showed him where he was hiding the four-wheeler in the Redell area.
When Law Enforcement checked that area, the four-wheeler was never recovered being as it was stolen from the original suspect. McGee was later arrested and charged with Felony theft and Criminal Trespassing. He has recently been released with a $16,000.00 bond. This case is still under investigation, and if anyone has any information are urged to contact the Criminal Investigations Division
