Date Posted: 07/20/2026

On July 18, 2026, Louisiana Alcohol and Tobacco Control, along with Narcotic Agents with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office, conducted a secondary compliance check at the convenience stores that were checked on July 10, 2026, to deter and prevent the illegal sale of alcohol and tobacco products to minors. During the operation, underage participants, acting under the supervision of law enforcement, attempted to purchase age-restricted products from local businesses

The results were as follows:

E&M Corner Store "Tobacco Tavern," 1688 West Main Street, Ville Platte, LA 70586, was cited again for selling alcohol to a minor.  The server DID NOT ask the operative for identification before completing the sale. A Second Administrative Summons to the business and server was issued: RS 26:90 (A)

Under 21 (2 counts) / RS 26:90A (1) Alcohol Sale to Person Under 21 (2 Counts).

ATC underage operatives attempted to purchase alcohol from Blue Junction, 3388 Chataignier Road, Ville Platte, LA 70586.  The server at Blue Junction requested a valid license and confirmed as under the legal age and refused service.

As always, Sheriff Charles R. Guillory and the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office are seeking information on criminal activity and urge the public to contact their Investigation Department via phone at 337-363-2161 or through the agency's website at www.evangelineparishsheriff.org.  Any person reporting information will remain anonymous.
