EVANGELINE PARISH SHERIFF'S OFFICE LITTER ABATEMENT PROJECT

Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office announces the successful launch of its Litter Abatement Project, an ongoing initiative aimed at improving roadway safety, community pride, and environmental stewardship throughout the parish.

On Saturday, August 22, 2026, Deputy Craig Jenkins and a supervised group of EPSO inmates conducted a large‑scale cleanup operation along Chicot Park Road, removing debris and litter across approximately three miles of roadway. This effort reflects EPSO's continued commitment to maintaining cleaner, safer public spaces for residents and visitors.

A second cleanup day is scheduled for Saturday, September 19, 2026, with additional operational details to be released as planning is finalized. EPSO encourages the public to stay informed as the agency continues expanding its environmental and community‑focused initiatives.
