EVANGELINE PARISH SHERIFF'S OFFICE AND RAPIDES PARISH SHERIFF'S OFFICE TEAM UP!

On January 20th, 2025, at approximately 344 AM, Deputies with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office were dispatched to Fuselier's Pharmacy in Pine Prairie for an alarm activation. When deputies arrived, they noticed the north side door was damaged, where someone had gained entry.
During the investigation, deputies learned that a large amount of prescription pain pills had been taken. Deputies were also able to obtain camera footage of an unknown male subject committing the burglary. The Sheriff's Office shared this video footage with surrounding agencies.
On January 22, 2025, Detectives were contacted by a Detective with the Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office who believed the person in the video was a male subject named Kevin McKinney of Alexandria. Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office was able to make an arrest of Mr. McKinney for a pharmacy burglary in Lecompte.
At that point, Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Detectives began working closely with Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office Detectives. During the investigation, Detectives were able to obtain enough evidence to get an arrest warrant for Kevin McKinney.

Mr. McKinney is currently incarcerated in the Rapides Parish jail, and a detainer was put on him for the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office. Mr. McKinney was charged with simple burglary of the pharmacy, criminal damage to property, and criminal trespassing. His bond is set at $55,000. This case is still pending, and more charges are possible. The Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office would like to thank the Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office for working together diligently on this investigation.
