EPSO and LOUISIANA ATC TEAM UP TO REDUCE YOUTH ACCESS TO ALCOHOL AND TOBACCO!
On July 10, 2026, the Louisiana Alcohol Tobacco Control, along with Narcotic Agents with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office, conducted a compliance operation at the request of the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office to deter and prevent the illegal sale of alcohol and tobacco products to minors. During the operation, underage participants, acting under the supervision of law enforcement, attempted to purchase age-restricted products from local businesses. After receiving several complaints , a joint task force was initiated and was designed to ensure compliance with state laws, promote responsible retail practices, and help reduce youth access to alcohol and tobacco.
