CRIMINAL PATROL/NARCOTICS DIVISION ARREST TRAVIS ACHEE
On April 20,2026, Narcotic Agents with Evangeline Parish Sheriff Office assigned to Criminal Patrol / Narcotics Division observed a male subject on an ATV along the roadway on Rock Pit Road & Veteran Memorial Highway. Agents activated the emergency lights to conduct a traffic stop in which the vehicle stopped at the intersection of Veteran Memorial Highway and Gautreaux Lane. Upon making contact with the driver, who was 45-year- old white male identified as Travis Achee agents advised of the reasoning for the stop. Travis Achee was instructed to step off of the motorized ATV and place his bag on the hood of the unit in which he complied. A weapons pat down was conducted for officer safety. Achee was asked if he held any illegal narcotics on his person or within his property in which he stated no and Achee gave verbal permission his person and the backpack.
Located within the subject's backpack was a NEF Co Inc, Model R73 32 H&R Mag, Serial Number ND011292.
Located in the center compartment of his Motorized ATV was a Folded Five Dollar Bill in the form of an envelope containing approximately 1.17 grams of suspected Methamphetamine.
Travis Achee was advised of his Mirranda Rights in which he stated he understood. Travis Achee was physically detained in handcuffs, arrested and charged with the following:
La RS 14:95E Possession of a firearm in the presence of a CDS.
La RS 40:967C Possession of Schedule II CDS - Methamphetamine.
Travis Achee also received a traffic citation for the observed traffic related offense.
