CRIMINAL INVESTIGATIONS ARREST GAUTREAUX MOLESTATION

On March 11, 2026, deputies with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office Patrol Division responded to a call for service in the Crooked Creek area following a report of inappropriate contact involving a juvenile.
Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the complainant and began gathering information. During the investigation, the suspect was identified as Dustin Cannie Gautreaux, 37, of Ville Platte. Deputies also learned that Gautreaux had fled the residence before their arrival.

Deputies began searching the area and located Gautreaux nearby, where he was detained without incident. Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division were notified and assumed the investigation.

As a result of the investigation, Gautreaux was arrested and booked into the Evangeline Parish Jail on the following charge:
• Charges: One (1) count of Molestation of a Juvenile or a Person with a Physical or Mental Disability (Felony) - Louisiana R.S. 14:81.2
• Bond: $150,000.00.
