CRIMINAL INVESTIGATIONS ARREST BROOKE LOMAS
On February 2, 2026, deputies with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office Uniformed Patrol Division
responded to an unincorporated area of Pine Prairie, regarding a report of a stolen vehicle.
On scene, deputies learned that the vehicle, which was described as a 2011 Cadillac CTS-V, belonged to an
elderly victim who is visually and hearing impaired.
While speaking with the victim, deputies learned that Brooke Lomas had allegedly taken her vehicle without
permission after visiting the residence to retrieve personal belongings.
After obtaining the necessary information, deputies entered the vehicle into NCIC as stolen. A short time later,
the vehicle was located abandoned near the Evangeline/St. Landry Parish line.
The case was then forwarded to Detectives with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations
Division, who diligently continued the investigation through interviews, recorded statements, and a review of
jail phone recordings.
Detectives later developed information indicating that Lomas allegedly took the vehicle to Eunice with
another individual and attempted to sell it.
On May 11, 2026, Brooke Lomas, 41, of Eunice, was arrested and booked into the Evangeline Parish
Detention Center. A detainer was issued for Emerald Williams, 28, of Eunice, who is currently incarcerated at the Eunice Police Department
Department on unrelated charges.
