CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION RELEASE: QUENTIN JAMES ORTEGO

On Monday, November 11, 2025, deputies with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office Patrol Division responded to a complaint in the 1400 block of Lamar Road regarding allegations that an occupant of the residence had child pornography.
The initial complaint was received from a non-law-enforcement-affiliated company, Expose Dat Predator (EPD).
Upon making contact with the alleged suspect, deputies were able to obtain the suspect's cellular phone through voluntary surrender. Deputies then immediately notified detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division.
Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division promptly initiated an investigation and identified the suspect as 39-year-old Quentin James Ortego of Ville Platte.
Detectives subsequently applied for and obtained a search warrant authorizing a forensic extraction of the cellular phone.
Following completion of the forensic examination, detectives reviewed the results of the extraction.
Based on the findings, detectives immediately applied for an arrest warrant.
On December 3, 2025, Quentin James Ortego was arrested and booked into the Evangeline Parish Jail on the following charges:
One (1) count of Computer-Aided Solicitation (Felony) - Louisiana Revised Statute 14:81.3
One (1) count of Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile (Felony) - Louisiana Revised Statute 14:81
One (1) count of Child Grooming / Indecent Visual Depiction of a Minor (Felony) - Louisiana Revised Statute 14:81.7
Five (5) counts of Pornography involving juveniles (Felony) - Louisiana Revised Statute 14:81.1
Ortego's bond was set at $250,000.00.
