CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION PRESS RELEASE ADDIE G PEACOCK

On February 4, 2025, the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division received a complaint regarding an alleged embezzlement involving a local business. 

The business owner reported that a former employee had written and cashed multiple unauthorized checks from the business account over a period spanning from 2020 through 2024.
The total amount of the alleged theft was reported to be $141,951.73

During the investigation, detectives identified the suspect as 64-year-old Addie G. Peacock of Mamou, Louisiana

As a result of the investigation, on December 31, 2025, Addie G. Peacock was arrested and booked into the Evangeline Parish Jail on the following charges:

 

·         One (1) count Theft (Felony)-  Louisiana Revised Statute 14:67

·         One (1) count Forgery (Felony)-  Louisiana Revised Statute 14:72

 

Bond for Peacock was set at $50,000.00
