CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION ARREST: LELAND CHARLIE GUIDRY

On February 19, 2026, Deputies with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office Patrol Division responded to the 
Clearwater community for a reported disturbance involving a male subject who had sustained serious 
injuries. 

Upon arrival, deputies located the victim at a nearby residence, suffering from multiple lacerations and 
significant trauma to the head and face.

The victim was transported by Acadian Ambulance to Rapides Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Due to the severity of the injuries, the case was forwarded to the Criminal Investigations Division.
Through the course of the investigation, detectives determined that the victim had been physically 
attacked, resulting in multiple facial fractures and other injuries. 

Investigators were able to identify the suspect responsible for the assault as Leland C. Guidry, 55, of 
Cheneyville.

On April 1, 2026, Leland C. Guidry was arrested and booked into the Evangeline Parish Detention Center on the 
following charges:
• One (1) count- Second Degree Battery (Felony)- LA R.S. 14:34.1
• Bond: $20,000
