EVANGELINE PARISH CRIMESTOPPERS TIP LEADS TO THE ARREST OF BRANDON KING!

On April 20, 2026, the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office Crime Stoppers Tip Line received information in reference to Brandon King leaving the Lake Cove area, traveling in a silver Ford Fusion.  Brandon King maintained an outstanding warrant for (1) Count 40:967A Distribution/Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule II CDS (Methamphetamines (1) Count of 40:969C Possession of a Schedule IV CDS (Clonazepam), (1) Count 14:95.5E Illegal Carrying of Weapons: Crime or CDS Family, and (1) Count 14:110 Simple Escape.

Narcotic Agents with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office, receiving this information, set up several observation posts in La. Hwy 106.  Upon the agents observing the vehicle turn west on La. Hwy 106, Narcotic Agent conducted a felony stop of the vehicle.  Agents conducted a call from the vehicle and Bandon King exited the vehicle and was immediately apprehended by agents.

Once in restraints, a pat search was conducted of Brandon King and in his change pocket (2) baggies, one containing 2.48 grams of Methamphetamine and the second baggie containing .34 grams of Methamphetamines.  Another baggie contained 12 round blue pills with imprint V2531 identified as Clonazepam 1mg and 13 round green pills with imprint Teva 833 identified as Clonazepam 1mg.  In his right front pants pocket, a glass pipe was located that contained a total of .45 grams of Methamphetamine.   

When Brandon King exited the vehicle, Agents observed Brandon King attempt to stomp what appeared to be a small piece of plastic located on the ground right next to the front passenger side door where Brandon King was located.  Agents retrieved the piece of plastic and found it to contain .20 grams of Methamphetamine. 

Brandon King was arrested on current Outstanding Warrants and also arrested and charged for the illegal narcotic located on his person during the traffic stop.  The driver of the vehicle, Rebecca Lee, was released from the scene.
