CEASAR ATTEMPTS TO INTRODUCE CONTRABRAND IN COURTROOM TO AN IMATE!

On May 21, 2026, Correctional Officers with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office, while working court security, observed a 34-year-old black male, later identified as Deshawn Ceasar, attempting to pass some paper wrapped in plastic, known as MoJo paper (Synthetic Marijuana), to an inmate.  

Through the course of field interviews and investigations, the following was seized, and Deshawn Ceasar was arrested and charged with:  

(1)    1 Count of 14:27 Attempted Crime (Felony)

(2)    1 Count of 40:967A PWIT to Distribute Schedule I CDS (Felony)

(3)    1 Count of 40:967C Possession of Schedule I CDS (Felony)

(4)    1 Count of 14:402E Introduction of Contraband into a Penal Facility (Felony)

As always, Sheriff Charles R. Guillory and the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office are seeking information on criminal activity and urge the public to contact their Investigation Department via phone at 337-363-2161 or through the agency's website at www.evangelineparishsheriff.org.  Any person reporting information will remain anonymous. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
