ARREST BRIEFING ~ KENNETH VICKNAIR ~
On May 20, 2025, Deputies with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office, were dispatched and advised that the suspect had made a verbal threat of harm to the Catholic Priest / Pastor in front of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Pine Prairie, La. Upon arrival, deputies determined that the suspect, Kenneth Vicknair had a verbal altercation with the Church's Pastor, and at one moment during their conversation, a Mr. Kenneth Vicknair made multiple threats on harming the Pastor.
Upon making contact with Mr. Vicknair, he was detained pending further investigation. The victim stated that he contacted the Sheriff's Office in fear that an escalated incident was about to occur due to Mr. Vicknair's behavior and body language. Kenneth Vicknair was later arrested and transported to the Evangeline Parish Jail, where he was booked without incident and charged with Simple Assault.
It was also learned that prior to this incident, the suspect went to the church diocese located in Lafayette and demanded to see the one of the clergy members there. If his demand was not met, he advised he was going to shoot every person that exits the front door of the building. Upon his release from the Evangeline Parish Jail, he was transported to the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center for pending terrorizing charges.
