ARREST BRIEFING ~ KENNETH THOMAS JONES~

On May 26, 2025, Deputies were dispatched to the 1300 Blk. of Etienne Rd. in reference to a complaint of tresspassing.  Upon arrival, Deputies made contact with the suspect Kevin Thomas Jones and detained him on scene.  During further investigation, Deputies learned from the complainant that the suspect has been tresspassing on her property on numerous ocasions. He was subsequently transported to the Evangeline Parish Jail where he was charged with trespassing.

Upon further investigation, Detectives with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office obtained video of the incident.  When reviewing the viceo footage, Detectives learned that the suspect was attempting to forcfully gain entery into the victim residence by using a wedged device while the victim was inside with her family.  At that point, Detectives went to the victim's residence and observed the front exterior door to be damaged.  Detectives also spoke with the victim who indicated that during the time of the incident, she approached the suspect with a firearm and demanded the suspect to leave her property.

On May 28, 2025, an arrest warant was obtained for the suspect for Attempteed Simple Burglary of an Inhabitted Dwelling, Simple Criminal Damage to Property, and Criminal Mischief.  He was later booked into the Evangeline Parsh jail for the above mentioned charges.
