On April 16, 2024, the United States Marshall's Service contacted the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office in reference to apprehending a fugitive wanted for Accessory After the Fact to 2nd Degree Murder and other probation violations.  The fugitive was wanted by the Ville Platte Police Department from a homicide that took place at the 300 Blk. of W. Beaureguard St.  The deceased victim is Vonshnskee Charles and his body was located in a wooded area off of Colt Ave. The incident was reported on September 1, 2023.

After receiving this information, Detectives and Criminal Patrol Deputies assisted the US Marshall's Service in the apprehension of the suspect.  He was located at a residence on the 1100 Blk of N. Chataigner Rd.  The suspect (Dalonzo Alfred B/M DOB 06/19/2000 of Ville Platte) was arrested and booked into the Evangeline Parish Jail without incident.  His bond is set at $300,000.00.
