Results from Click it or Ticket Detail

This past weekend Evangeline Parish Deputies were out on patrol looking for DWI  and other violations.  The Louisiana Highway Safety Commission awarded the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Department a Grant to conduct this specialized detail.  Deputies were out in force to ensure the safety of the citizens of Evangeline Parish.

During this detail Deputies encountered 40 vehicles with 36 violations.  There were over fifty people encountered during this patrol.  Citations were issued for a variety of violations including 2 DWI's that were made during the Saturated Patrol conducted these past two weekends.

The primary objective during this enforcement campaign is to encourage residents to comply with laws in an effort to keep them and others that are out on the roadways safe.

Sheriff Guillory would like to remind the citizens of Evangeline Parish "that the leading cause in fatality crashes is a result of impaired driving".
