On February 05, 2024, Evangeline Parish Deputies while patrolling in the Pine Point area observed a vehicle cross the center line multiple times. 

Upon initiating a traffic stop, contact by the Deputies was made and the strong smell of marijuana was resonating from the vehicle.  Upon search of the vehicle and passengers, the male passenger in the back seat identified as Lezett Watkins 55 of Mamou was searched.  Deputies located on his person, approximately 22 grams of methamphetamine and 9 grams of Marijuana. 

Also, the female passenger who was identified as Dianne Viator 37 of Mamou maintained outstanding warrants for Mamou Police Department. 

The result of the traffic stop was Lezett Watkins, arrested and charged with Possession of a Schedule II Narcotic "Methamphetamine" and a Criminal Summons was issued for Possession of Marijuana. Diana Viator was arrested and transported to Mamou City Jail for Outstanding Warrants.
