On September 12, 2023, the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office Criminal Patrol Division conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Regal Rd. and Perron Rd. in reference to a traffic violation. During the stop, Deputies asked the driver if he had any illegal narcotics inside of his vehicle. The driver stated that he has a bag in the rear seat of his vehicle containing marijuana.  Deputies were subsequently given permission to search the vehicle. 

At that point, Deputies located the bag and learned that it contained approximately 95 grams of Marijuana.  The driver (Mark Owen B/M DOB 12/15/1974 of Opelousas) was placed under arrest and booked into the Evangeline Parish Jail for Possession and Distribution of Marijuana.  His bond was set at $25,000.00
