On July 4, 2023, the Criminal Investigations Division of the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's office was tasked to look into an Animal attack of a 5-year-old boy in the Reddell area of Evangeline Parish.  It was determined, at the completion of this investigation, the homeowner (Floyd Porche W/M DOB 04/01/1952 of Mamou) took custody and control of the Pitbull from a relative.  The dog in question was not effectively secured by the homeowner.  As a result, the juvenile was attacked by the dog.  Floyd Porche was subsequently arrested and issued a misdemeanor summons for Negligent Injuring.
