ARREST BRIEFING

On June 7, 2023, Deputies with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the 400 Blk. Of Sandy St. in reference to a disturbance taking place there.  Upon arrival, Deputies learned that the suspect (Joshua Paul Jones W/M DOB 01/26/1987 of Ville Platte) arrived at that location, entered the residence uninvited, and physically attacked a juvenile inside the residence. 

Prior to the physical altercation with the juvenile, the suspect assaulted an elderly victim who was attempting to make the suspect leave the residence.  The suspect fled the scene prior to Deputies arrival.  Both victims were later transported to the hospital for their injuries.

During the investigation, Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for the suspect which he was later located and arrested on June 15, 2023.  The suspect was charged with one count of simple battery of the infirm, one count of simple battery, one count of criminal trespass, and one count of home invasion
