Sheriff Charles R. Guillory, of the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office releases the following:

 On the 5th of April 2023 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff Department's Narcotics Unit along with the Allen Parish Swat team executed a search warrant in the Gabriel Villa Apartment Complex. Agents entered the apartment and detained two adults. A search of the residence was conducted and illegal narcotics were located.

 Also on the 5th of April 2023 Evangeline Parish Sheriff Department's Narcotic Agents conducted a search warrant, on a residence on Hwy 95 just outside the Mamou city limits. Agents Made entry and detained two people. Agents then conducted a search of the residence and located illegal narcotics and firearms were recovered.

 Later on the 5th of April 2023 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff Department's Narcotics Unit were pulling into a residence on 7th Street in Mamou to execute a search warrant. The suspect fled in his truck and refused to stop. The suspect then went down a dead-end road and fled on foot. Deputies captured him a few minutes later in a pond. Agents conducted a search of the truck and located his two juvenile children in it, along with illegal narcotics. Agents then went to the residence and conducted a search and located more narcotics.
