Sheriff Charles R. Guillory, of the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office releases the following:

 On the 2nd of January 2023 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff Department's Narcotics Unit conducted a search warrant on the Old Basile Highway. Agents entered the residence and took one person into custody without incident. Agents then conducted a search and located illegal narcotics. The following occurred.

Possession with intent to distribute marijuana over 640 grams

Possession of Methamphetamine

Possession of drug paraphernalia 

On the 4th of January 2023 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff Departments K-9 unit conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in Ville Platte. Agents then made contact with the driver and passengers. They conducted a short interview and K-9 Diego was then deployed. Agents then conducted a search of the vehicle and located illegal narcotics.

Possession of a firearm in presence of CDS
