Recently the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office began looking for a bicycle to help someone they identified as in need of some type of transportation to travel to and from work. A bicycle was donated by Mr. Chip Matte to the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office.

On 12-2-22 Sheriff Charles R. Guillory, Chief Deputy Scott Fontenot, and Captain Vic Lemoine went the Nursing Home where they met with staff. The person in need, Ms. Jackie Murphy, was presented the bicycle from Sheriff Guillory on behalf of the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office. Ms. Murphy recently had her bicycle stolen and was walking 2 to 3 miles everyday to and from work. Her coworkers stated that she always found a way to come in to work "rain or shine". Now with her new bicycle it will make it easier to do so.
