Sheriff Charles R. Guillory, of the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office releases the following:

 On the 17th of October 2022 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff Department's Patrol Division stopped a car for a traffic violation. Upon coming into contact with the driver there was a smell of marijuana coming from the car. The driver admitted to having marijuana and gave it to the deputy.

 On the 18th of October 2022 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff Department's Narcotics Unit stopped a car on Hwy 115 in the Lone Pine area. Upon coming into contact with the driver, agents smelled burnt marijuana. They conducted an interview and a search then the following occurred.

On the 20th of October 2022 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff Department's Narcotics Unit, made contact with a female in the Basile area. Upon speaking to her, she displayed signs of severe nervousness, she then advised Agents she had marijuana in her pocket.

 On the 21st of October 2022 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff Department responded to a call in the Chataignier area. While on scene there were indications of narcotic usage. Upon further investigation the following action occurred.

On the 23rd of October 2022 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff Department received a call of a suspicious person on Debaillon Plantation Road. Upon arrival Deputies located a male subject and conducted an interview. During the interview it was discovered the male suspect had outstanding warrants. Which led to the following.

He was arrested on 3 outstanding warrants

He was cited for 4 traffic violations.

 

 On the 24th of October 2022 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff Department's Narcotics Unit made contact with a person who had active warrants. Upon taking the suspect into custody, illegal narcotics were located on her person.

She was cited for possession of marijuana

She also had an active warrant for failure to appear

On the 24th of October 2022 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff Department stopped a car for a traffic violation. Deputies conducted an interview and requested permission to search. Upon completing a search of the car, the following occurred.

She was cited and released

 Also, on the 24th of October 2022 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff Department received a complaint of stolen chain saws from a business in the Turkey Creek area. Narcotic Agents received information of who had stolen the chainsaws and the location of them. Agents were able to locate the suspect who was an employee of the business and arrested him. The chainsaws were returned to the owner.
