Sheriff Charles R. Guillory, of the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office releases the following: 

On the 1st of September 2022 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff Department's Narcotics Unit, conducted a search warrant on a residence located off of LD Verret Road. When Agents entered the residence, they took one suspect into custody without incident. Agents located illegal narcotics, firearms, U S Currency. Agents also found two dog kennels with puppies in each in the sun with no water and food. Agents also located one puppy that was dead. This led to the following arrest.

Possession with intent to distribute Marijuana over 15 grams

Possession of a firearm in presence of CDS

11 Counts of cruelty to animals

1 count of aggravated cruelty to animals. 

Also, on the 1st of September the Evangeline Parish Sheriff Department's Narcotics Unit, conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Oakdale Road. Upon coming into contact with the driver, there was an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Agents conducted an interview with the driver and permission to search was granted. Once the agents completed their search illegal narcotics were located.

Traffic violations

 On the 5th of September 2022 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff Department's K-9 Unit conducted a traffic stop on a car on Millers Lake Road. Agents conducted an interview and K-9 Diego was deployed and gave a positive alert to the presence of narcotics. Agents then conducted a search of vehicle and discovered illegal narcotics.

 Also, on the 5th of September 2022 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff Department's Narcotics Unit, conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation on Veteran Memorial Highway. Agents made contact with the driver and noticed narcotics in plain view. Upon conducting a search of the vehicle, the following arrest occurred.
