Sheriff Charles R. Guillory, of the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office releases the following:

 On 11th of May 2022 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff Departments Narcotics and K-9 Unit along with the Louisiana Department of Probation and Parole, conducted a Parole check on a subject. Upon coming into contact with the subject agents noticed an overwhelming smell of Marijuana coming from the residence.

Agents had the Parole step outside and questioned him. Agents then located illegal narcotics on the person, this led to a search of his vehicle. While searching the vehicle agents located a large amount of illegal narcotics in the vehicle. The Parole was then arrested without incident. The other occupant of the residence left on foot while narcotic agents where speaking to the detained subject.

Narcotics agents then applied for a search warrant of the residence located at 517 Court Street in Ville Platte. 

Agents then entered the residence and located another extremely large amount of narcotics in the residence. This led to the following arrest, and warrants issued for two more suspects.

 

Darius Arvie aka Green 1009 TE Mamou Road Ville Platte, LA. 70586 B/M Age 28

He was charged as follows

2 counts of Possession with intent to distribute Methamphetamine 2.75 pounds

Possession with intent to distribute Marijuana ¾ pound

Possession with intent to distribute Hydrocodone over 94 pills

Possession with intent to distribute Ecstasy over 92 pills

Possession of narcotics in a drug free zone

Possession of Alprazolam

Parole violation

 The recovered amount of illegal narcotics from this search warrant has a street value of over $30,000

Agents also seized over $2600.00 in U S currency
