***WANTED PERSON- ESCAPEE***

The Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office is currently seeking the whereabouts of an escaped inmate.

Joseph Jermaine Charles was a trustee, whom, while working a Clean-up detail on the grounds, walked away from the Evangeline Parish Jail on April 16, 2022 at approximately 7:00 pm.  The inmate was in jail on a probation hold.

Joseph Charles is approximately 6'2", 220lbs, black hair, brown eyes

While Charles is not considered to be armed and dangerous, Please use caution! 

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Joseph Jermaine Charles is asked to call the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office at 337-363-2161 or call 911.
