Sheriff Charles R. Guillory, of the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office releases the following: 

On the 16th of March 2022 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Department Narcotics Unit, conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Main Street in Ville Platte. Upon coming into contact with the driver and passenger, Agents could smell Marijuana coming from the vehicle. K-9 Diego conducted a search of the vehicle and located narcotics, US currency and a handgun.

Arvie Traffic Stop

On the 17th of March 2022 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Department Narcotics Unit, stopped a vehicle on Old Basile Highway for a traffic violation. K-9 Diego was deployed for a free air sniff. Diego indicated to presence of possible narcotics. A search was conducted and illegal narcotics were located.

On the 17th of March 2022 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Department Narcotics Unit, conducted a search warrant on a residence located on East Pine Street in Ville Platte. Agents entered the residence and detained three suspects without incident. The residence was searched and narcotics were located, along with guns and U S currency.

On the 18th of March 2022 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Department Narcotics Unit, conducted a traffic stop on a car in the Mamou area. Upon coming into contact with the driver and short interview a small amount of marijuana was located.

On the 20th of March 2022 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff Departments Patrol Unit, responding to a complaint and conducted a traffic stop. Upon speaking with the occupants in the car K-9 Diego was called to the scene. Once on scene Diego conducted a free air sniff around the car and indicated to possible narcotics being present. Once a search of the conducted illegal narcotics were located. This led to a search warrant being issued and a search of a residence being conducted. Once the apartment was searched more illegal narcotics were found.
