Sheriff Charles R. Guillory, of the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office releases the following:

 

On the 15th of January, 2022- The Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office Criminal Patrol Unit conducted a traffic stop on a truck for a traffic violation. While speaking to the driver The Agent noticed an overwhelming smell of Marijuana coming from the truck. Agents then conducted a search and located marijuana and a used needle with Methamphetamine residue. The following action then occurred.

He was cited and released for:

Possession of Marijuana

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

And a traffic citation

On the 18th of January, 2022- The Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit made contact with two subjects at the Best Inn Motel in Ville Platte, in reference to a disturbance. While speaking to the subject's, narcotics were seen in plain view. This led to a search of the room and the discovery of more narcotics and a firearm.

There were also multiple items that Agents believe to be stolen. These items were confiscated and an investigation by the Detectives Division is being conducted in conjunction with other Agencies in an attempt to locate the owners of the property, since these items were not reported stolen in Evangeline Parish. The following were arrested and charged.

 

Joshua Ray Swinnea

Homeless

W/M Age 33

 

 

He was charged with:

Possession of Methamphetamine

Possession of Firearm with CDS

 

 

Donna Michelle Boyles

320 Old River Road

Columbia, LA. 71418

W/F Age 35

 

   

She was charged with:

Possession of Methamphetamine

Possession of a Firearm with CDS

Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon

On the 19th of January, 2022 the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office Patrol Division conducted a traffic stop on a motorcycle for a traffic violation. Upon approaching the driver, He threw a bag of suspected narcotics on the ground. The Deputy recovered the narcotics. The license plate on the motorcycle was reported stolen. The deputy then checked the VIN number and it was discovered that the motorcycle was also stolen. The driver of the motorcycle was arrested and charged as follows.

W/M Age 51

 

   
 

He was charged with:

Criminal trespassing

Possession of Methamphetamine

Possession of Stolen Items

Possession of a Stolen Motorcycle

Obstruction of Justice

Menier also had three active warrants for Failure to 

Appear for Court.
